Words, Words, Words!

"Goodbye"--a difficult word

One of the most difficult words to say is "Goodbye". Last week Jim and Corinne Thorp said many goodbyes to the people they loved and who loved them. Their most difficult "goodbyes" were to the orphans at the Missionaries of Charity orphanage. These little people have had the love of Jim and Corinne for several years. Both Jim and Corinne wept as they hugged the children whom they have served and played with week after week. Will they ever see these children again?

As we said goodbye, we knew we would see them again but many of their African friends could not say that.

"Welcome"--a delightful word

After our third week of celebration in the hen house, we were invited to "Mister," one of the young men's home. He wanted us to meet his extended family--brothers, nephews, sister-in-law, cousins. We met under a tree in the middle of their courtyard. As we sat in a circle, he "welcomed" us in the name of his family. Ken had the opportunity to share the "Good News" with all.

Afterward "Mister" shared how one of the interns, Americo, had befriended him as a boy than as a young man. They had lost touch. Now Americo had reentered his life as an adult. "Coincidence"? No, God's plan! So "Mister" wanted his blood family to meet his spiritual brothers, mama and papa.
Faithfully,
Arlene for the Flurrys

Ken, when I looked at the picture of you reaching out your hand, I could feel Jesus reaching out, taking your hand in His and saying, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

God bless you and Arlene as you serve Him.
